Services
Psychotherapy and Counseling for Adults
I enjoy helping people with psychological challenges such as PTSD, anxiety or depression, as well as other issues and interests such as improving relationship functioning, improving confidence, and recovering from divorce and relationships ending.
I also have significant experience working in the medical and physical health fields as a psychologist and thus I am comfortable and knowledgeable about physical and medical aspects of wellbeing and suffering, and the effects this has on your psychology, and vice versa. In other words, I am interested in and knowledgeable about mind-body relationships.
I provide an accepting and nonjudgmental environment that is essential for achieving the depth of change most people are interested in achieving. I draw from cognitive and mindfulness based therapeutic approaches, as well as relationship based therapeutic approaches.
Psychotherapy begins with a thorough assessment of your concerns and interests and then generally consists of weekly appointments to help you accomplish your therapy objectives.
About Me
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology at Argosy University in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have practiced in outpatient psychology clinics, hospital environments, wilderness therapy programs, and primary care medical settings.
Some of the organizations that I have worked for are Kaiser Permanente, the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, and Lifeworks Northwest at Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center in the Portland Area.
The wide variety of clinical experiences that I have collected have broadened my understanding of how to help people, as well as the endless varieties of challenges and suffering that people endure until they find a new way.
